Harris County man charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) when wife is run over by his pickup truck after she jumped out of the vehicle

Harris County man not charged with Intoxication Manslaughter when his wife jumped out of his pickup truck.  Instead the Houston Police Department charged him with DWI.  The State of Texas is required to prove causation in an Intoxication Manslaughter case.  Here, he was driving a "duely pickup" which has 4 back tires instead of 2.  Also, she "jumped" out of the truck.  The District Attorney (DA's) office made the initial charging decision likely because of the difficulty of proving his "intoxication" caused her death.

Prayers to the family.  What a tragic end to a domestic dispute.
